Who we are

Toronto Film Extras is a background performer talent agency based in Toronto. For over a decade we have supplied thousands of background performers to more than 500 productions filming in the Greater Toronto Area — feature films, television series, commercials and music videos.

Background performers are the people who make a scene feel real: the commuters, the diners, the office staff, the crowd in the street. Our job is to make sure that when a production needs those people, the right performers arrive on time, prepared and set-ready.

Professional standards

Toronto Film Extras is a proud member of the Toronto Talent Agent Association (TTAA), whose member agents adhere to a code of ethics. We work with both non-union performers and ACTRA members, and we require every performer on our roster to hold a valid Ontario Health and Safety Worker Certificate before stepping onto a set.

A note on BG4Hire

BG4Hire is a separate third-party online casting database and search tool used by casting directors and agencies. It is not Toronto Film Extras, and its annual fee is paid to BG4Hire. An active BG4Hire account is required in order to work with TFX so that casting can find and book you.
